In this blog I wish to share postcards from my collection with others, as there are many different catagories of postcards. I also will share what I am currently selling on Ebay. I like selling, buying and trading postcards. The Plus in the title is for the handcraft items I make and collect. Also for all the ephemera I collect.

P & O Orient Lines Passenger Ship "ORIANA"
This was a deluxe ship in 1965....like a cruise ship but called a passenger ship. You could travel around the world sailing on the Oriana. My parents and sister sailed to New Zealand on this ship while I will still attending college. I was jealous but did take one cruise in the Greek Islands and got sea sick. I would rather fly, drive or go in our RV then get on a ship. But I guess the new ones are pretty smooth. I am listing this postcard on eBay

Wool Roving
What a find! At a group yard sale. A box full of 100% wool roving. I have been making felted wool beads using the needle method. It is relaxing but not quite sure what I will do with these beads.
I have been taking a break from online selling. Actually I am just looking for more new interesting postcards. I just may purchase some Christmas (mainly Santa) or Halloween postcards if the price is right. Meanwhile I just stab away with my felting needle. Did I say relaxing? Maybe its out of frustration. Not really.

Twitter Account
If you follow me on Twitter JudyannM and got a "not so nice" tweet from me, I did not send it...I was hacked. First time this has ever happened to me. In disgust I just closed the account. Might open a new one with a new name!

Night Time Humor "Beach Nuts"
The dog had tummy problems, the dishwasher stopped working, the old cat is really senile tonight so I thought I would share a comic postcard.
Nice RV Park Bordertown Nevada near Reno
I would much rather be back at Bordertown RV Park but need to be home for awhile. We did have to have some work on the trailer with wonderful service which I will share later. Meanwhile the dishwasher is not working and need to buy a new one. Try finding someone to install it in the foothills. It will cost to remove the old one and put in the new one. We can install most things but not a dishwasher. Off to go look at them.

Cute children, one on tricycle - Cabinet Card
One child is riding (or rather sitting for a pose) on a steel tricycle. The sister is standing by holding onto the bars. They are not exactly dressed for riding, but I am not sure that steel 3 wheeler is ready for the road.
This cabinet card photo was probably taken in the late 1800s in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

What a cute baby in a bonnet Cabinet Card from Milwaukee
I wonder if this baby is enjoying wearing all these clothes including that fancy bonnet. I hope she (or he) have padded that rattan basket. This cabinet card was probably taken in the late 1800s. I had to use my camera and its hard to get the true sepia coloring.

Wonderful 4 day trip so have not being doing much with blogging and entrecard. Might get to it tomorrow. Ah retirement is great. Stayed at RV Parks in Minden, and a night at Bordertown RV Park 10 miles north of Reno. Lovely park

Joey - Lady about Town
Joey is a Lady about town. Well not exactly as here she is stretched out relaxing. We have never had a dog that likes to walk everyone on her leash. She prefers town streets with lots of activity so she can see whats happening. Joey likes sitting at Starbucks while we drink coffee outside. Of course she expects a quick stop at Petsmart or Petco for a treat or two. Last week we stopped at a dog run and was excited because she had 2 small dogs to play with. And RV parks are full of fun people and other dogs. She has a ramp to get in and out of the truck. She is a shelter dog and hobbles a little if tireddue to a bullet that had grazed her back leg. We took her anyway.
She is a Dachshund mix, some have called her a Dutch Hound. Well she is waiting for her morning walk.

Tourist Advertisements Bumper Tie Ons -
When traveling as a kid I always noticed the advertisement bumper tie ons for cars stating you visited Trees of Mystery or Shipwreck (Eureka CA) or Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz California. We never stopped at any as my parents would mumble "Its just a tourist trap." As an adult I finally visited Trees of Mystery and they were not so mysterious.
Another souvenir I aways grabbed were paper placemats at restaurants. Found this one at a yard sale even though I have been to Harolds Club in Reno Nevada. I was very disappointed when they closed the casino.
Now you see bumper stickers maybe a paper placemat or two still exist. I expect the cars that had these -bumper tie -ons also carried those bumper water bags (burlap).
I will be listing these on ebay eventually.

Birthday Postcards for 2 and 3 year olds
I have seen a number of these Birthday Postcards printed in England. The photos of the children, toys and other items are RPPC (real photo), with verses added. I don't think a 2 or 3 year old would enjoy the postcard, but the parents probably would.

Picture Perfect Thursday
Love having a zoom on my new Canon Digital Camera. Watching the 2 tiny birds making a nest inside.(not in photo)
I think Joey feels a nap coming on.
Our 25 year old cat sleeping among the Lemon Balm
This pot has been growing Chives for many years. The blossoms will be opening soon. They taste good.

Large Letter Postcards Greetings from Richmond Virginia
Large Letter Postcards are very collectible. They usually add the words Greetings from.....This particular postcard is GREETINGS FROM RICHMOND VIRGINIA. This style of postcard usually has mini views within each letter. Often the state flower and capitol building is pictured. One can find Large Letter postcards with City Names, Military bases, National Parks, the 50 States and special highways like Route 66. Many are of the linen style. One can still find modern chrome postcards with the Large Letter Style
