Girls with Flags and Uncle Sam Postcard RPPC

I think this is a very old photo postcard. No information is given about the group of children mostly girls and where they are waving their flags. It might be in front of a school house. They look like they are wearing uniforms, 3 different kinds and are posing in groups with the same uniform. Maybe it indicates the grade they are in, an organization they belong to. At the right hand side is a boy who is dressed like Uncle Sam.
This cute child is posing in not so comfortable chair.

A Winner!
If you are into PRIMITIVE, wonderful handmade items I recommend this site.

Souvenirs of the Sea - Panorama Postcard Leesburg, Florida

I love this postcard showing an old souvenir store so typical of beach towns....shells, novelties of the seashore, some food items. This postcard is not the standard size, but measures 9 inches by 3 1/2 inches. The older cars add interest to the scene.
Message is written on the back in pencil....."This is really only half the bldg. Now there is a bldg added at the extreme right of picture as long as the one shown Be sure to stop. Reasonable too!!"

Coca Cola No Drip Dry Protector

Heres something for the Coca Cola Collectors. These sleeves were put over Coke bottles to keep condensation from collecting. These sleeves were in dispensers that were placed next to Coca Cola Machines. Copyrighted in the 1920's and 1930's they are fun to collect. Some are rarer than others, like this one above has a red meat patty which is unusual.
Available on Ebay.

A display of postcards

I like using old doilies to display my postcards and other pieces of ephemera..

Vintage Carved Metal Buttons on Card

These buttons have intricate designs two with floral patterns. I attached the 3 buttons to a computer generated card with thread so they may be used in your sewing or craft projects. They are listed on Ebay. Click on the above picture and it should take you to the auction site.

More Swap Trading Playing Cards

My pictures of my trading playing cards did not show up in the previous post.
These old playing cards have blank backs. Almost any subject or topic is on the front of these cards. Flowers, animals, village scenes, boats, state maps, National Park Views etc.

Swap Trading Playing Cards

If you saved old playing cards from decks years ago they could be collectible. Some come with blank backs which I prefer and may indicate they were rejects from a regular pack of playing cards.

Felted Wool Postcard, & Waiting for a Letter PC

I took a piece of wool felt (blend) washed it again to give it a more felted look. Then I made this Valentine postcard. This postcard is ready to be filled in with your name and address and mailed to someone you want to hear from. I like the picture of the woman looking out the window. It looks like the flowers might be Dogwood.

Handmade Postcard and ATC's

Making Fabric Postcards has been increasingly popular with Mixed Media Artists, Quilters, and others. I had bought several books about making Fabric Postcards and decided to just get out the sewing machine and have my hand at it. I started with a basic piece of felted wool, stitched on lace, word phrases (I printed them on my computer) and tag. Added a handmade yo yo I made. Added a piece of muslin on the back and a strip with words Post Card, and Place Stamp Here. You can mail these direct but with the button I would probably put it in an envelope. Below are Artist Trading Cards (ATC) small versions of ones art work which are traded with other artists. They are usually 2 1/2 in by 3 1/2 in. This was new for me and I have lots to learn.

Old Fashion Kitchen 1911 Postcard

I love this postcard. It is fun to see the washtub and scrub washboard on the table. Other Items I am guessing at are muffin tin, oval wooden mixing bowl, buckets, various containers, grinder etc.
The postcard was mailed from Enterprise KANS. Jul 12, 1911 and mailed to Milford, KANS.

Rummage Sale Find

Well I went to several yard sales today and two rummage sales but didn't find any postcards....but I found this framed 1934 counted cross stitch piece. I think it was actually framed in the late 1950's or early 1960's. It has a sealed brown paper backing so I don't want to open up and check the linen. Hopefully its authentic. I wonder if its from a nursery rhyme. It measures about 8 inches by 10 inches. I also found some doilies which I love using in craft projects.

Lady with Quilt Postcard

I just found this postcard while browsing around in an antique mall yesterday. I think a quilter might enjoy having this postcard. Tucks postcards are plentiful but still collectible. I have decided to list this postcard on Ebay.

Extraterrestrial Highway, Rachel Nevada - From my archives

I think this postcard is computer generated. It shows you can make your own postscards. There are many postcards with the message Greetings From......but I particularly like this one. I picked it up in Rachel Nevada which is near Area 51 where of course the aliens are!! If you ever listened to Art Bell on the radio you will know about Rachel. The highway is in the middle of nowhere but has beautiful scenery and the town is a lot of fun. I bought a lot of souvenirs at the Little Alien Inn. But I didn't see any aliens.
