Lavender Tea Cookies

Every year I make Lavender Tea Cookies using the Fresh Lavender from my Garden.
Bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes til Golden in color with light brown edges. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Makes about 30 cookies.
1 cup unsalted butter
2/3 cup minus 1 T superfine sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cup minus 1 T of self rising flour
1 T fresh Lavender Flowers
Cream butter and sugar. Add Egg and mix. Add flour and stir. Add Fresh lavender flowers. Drop spoonful of dough on parchment paper. Watch closely as they bake. Times vary according to the size of the cookie. I used margarine instead of butter. I used a good baking sugar, not sure if it was superfine.

Seligman Arizona on Historic Route 66

I have fun collecting postcards of the towns on Route 66 but today I am sharing photos of the town Seligman Arizona, between Kingman and Williams on historic Route 66. A real tourist trap but a lot of fun to visit.

Yosemite Valley Postcard Friendship Friday

I can't help but list Yosemite National Park Postcards since I can see this very view in an hour from my house. It was mailed in 1911 from Camp Lost Arrow, something which I will have to google since I am not familiar with that camp. This postard reads that Yosemite Valley is on the Line of the S.P.R.R. Now the tracks are gone and there is nice rainway path left following the Merced River.
Message reads......such a delightful spot. Am going to visit this point tomorrow. Be sure and don't jolly too much. Thats a quaint expression so all you PFF friends DON'T JOLLY TOO MUCH. Check out Maries blog for more of PFF http://www.cpaphilblog.com/

Its Beach Time Asbury Park N.J.

With summer here its time to get out that swimming suit or pair of shorts and be cool. These beach goers are enjoying a walk on the Boardwalk Promenade, but I don't think they will be taking a dip in the ocean. Fashions have sure changed, thank goodness!!!

Happy Fathers Day Postcard

I am on the road again, but this time I was smart, I loaded up a bunch of postcards on my laptop so I could easily add them at my leisure. I know Fathers Day is coming up soon so I thought this postcard was appropriate.

Postcard Scavenger Hunt # 4 Handicrafts

Postcardy is sponsoring Postcard Scavenger #4 with the theme Handicrafts. I am sharing a postcard appropriate for the month of March but feel it goes with the theme. An Irish woman is spinning away, maybe making a shawl like the one over her shoulder. Please check out Postcardy's blog with her lovely handicraft postcards. http://postcardy.blogspot.com/2009/06/pff-postcard-scavenger-hunt-4.html

June is Graduation Time Postcard Friendship Friday

I picked this postcard because so many students are graduating from school this month. These girls are dressed for the occasion in their fancy white dresses and are holding a tied up certificate in their hand. Maybe they graduated from finishing school what with no cap and gown. It is fun to speculate. Postcard Friendship Friday is Maries idea so check out her blog. In fact you can meet her on her very first vlog!! http://www.cpaphilblog.com/ Click on the picture to enlarge. You can really see the detail.

Old Trailer Park - Perry Florida

Waltz Me Around Willie 1907 Postcard

Keystone Post Cards "Song" Number 70, Published by Julius Bien & Company NY
I chose this postcard because I have blogging friends who quillt, sew and I like the patchwork dress the girl is wearing. The boy has a surprised look on his face, while the girl looks quite determined to finish this dance!
