Comic Linen Postcards

These two comic postcards were published by the Asheville Post Card Co. They printed cards for several manufacturers. Comic postcards were popular from 1930's until the late 1950's. The air brush look on these cards is colorful and almost art deco in appearance.
Hair do and hat reminds me of the old movies. She could lose a few pounds.

The gal has a skeptical look on her face, but not sure about her body language. Love those shoes.

Group Photo Ladies RPPC

I love this old RPPC. Are these fashionable ladies, teachers, alumni of a college, nurses, relatives? The younger ladies are wearing white blouses. Is the older lady in black the Grandmother, head nurse, teacher, principal or? What do you think?

I don't know where I am going....PFF

It seems that on Thursday night these past few weeks I am away from home in our little trailer. So knowing PFF is coming up I have to find something on my stored picture page as most of my postcard images are at home on my desktop computer. I forgot to upload some before leaving the house except for this old postcard. I don't know where I'm going but I'm on the way....is appropriate as I don't know where we will go next. We are hearing strange sounds in the truck so it might be to a dealership. Well at least I can nap in the trailer while they fix it. For those familiar with California we are near I-5 in the middle of nowhere! Well close to Santa Nella. These are just quick get away from the house trips for now. Boy has the wind been blowing. RVing and Antique Tractor Show

I have been gone again for 2 nights so just read all the comments for the PFF entry. Yes, we were tourists again and I even had my big purse or rather bag. Thats because we went to the Antique Tractor Show in Tulare Calif. There are 100's of old tractors and other farm machinery. They paraded around and it was amazing what you saw. Then the highlight is 700 booths from food to flea market etc. I found only one place with a few postcards. I bought some quilt squares from 1939 and will share later. Hubby found rope and I bought some Armenian Olives, jelly so my bag was filled. We stayed in our trailer and I should have brought my swimming suit as yesterday it was in the 80's. We were about 10 miles from the show. No wifi so I didn't have computer access. Now to unpack so we can take off again. Oh yes we had to stop at a cheese/ fruit country store on the way home so my spare bag is filled.

1956 Tour Group Palais De Versailles PFF

This group of travelers are probably standing in a spot where many tourists stop. I am sure a photographer grabbed them! This tour to France must be in the colder months as the women are wearing long coats! Styles of the 50's. There are 2 faint ink marks which indicate two of the tourists. Enjoying themselves are Mrs. N. R. Moore and Kathryn Steele. I wonder how many tourist dollars they each paid for a picture. But then I have similar ones in my photo album. This was made into a RPPC. Why are they travelling with such big purses! My friend Marie has more postcard bloggers sharing their favorite postcard for Postcard Friendship Friday. http://www.cpaphilblog.com/

Handmade Birdfeeder

I received this birdfeeder as a Christmas gift. The birds were slow to use it but now the Gold Finches, Titmice, Nuthatch look for thistle, sunflower seeds and peanuts.

PFF Banforth Vacation Comics

I picked this postcard for two reasons for Postcard Friendship Friday. The first one is that it has been raining all day and I got wet, shopping, catching the cat, closing the gate, feeding the birds and could have used a little cover. And for my French Friends (check out Marie's PFF http://www.cpaphilblog.com/) she lives in France and maybe she can read the message on the back of the postcard! I do know a few of the words.

You oughta see our "Pin Up" Gals

These booklets are tablets, plus a small 1962 calender. And to think at that time we were all wearing garter belts. That is if you are old enough to remember.

Postcard Vignette - Postcard Friendship Friday

When feeling creative I sometimes arrange my postcards and other vintage items into a vignette. Don't forget to go to Maries for Postcard Friendship Friday....http://www.cpaphilblog.com/
