Halloween Postcard w/ Stitchery and Fabric

Here is my second Halloween postcard. I am back into embroidery which I did when young. Except I call it primitive stitchery. Added is a piece of Halloween fabric showing a town view with witches flying among the bats and stars.

Photographer with Fashionable Lady

I don't usually just show part of a postcard but this time I cropped the edges (not with scissors, but scanner!) to enlarge the photographer and his subject. This is dated 1913. I like the green background with pink flowers, and the fashionable lady. The edges of the postcard are pretty worn.

Postcard Beijing 2008 Olympics

I just received this picture card, similar to a postcard celebrating the Olympics in China, 2008. I listen to China Radio International on shortwave so they send me souvenirs now and then.
Below are linen postcards showing Chinatown, San Francisco.

Horrible bug

I seem to be really adding pictures today to this blog. This flying bug is 2 to 3 inches long, sorry my picture isn't bigger. There were 100's of them on the highway near Mountain City Nevada. We put Casper the cat on a leash for a break from driving and he wouldn't get near them! You can enlarge picture with a click and see it closer up!

Here are 3 postcards I bought while traveling in Nevada.

Clark's Spool Cotton Sewing Bin

Here we are in our pop up Tent Trailer in an RV Park with hook ups. Sort of camping with the good life thrown in!

I bought this sewing bin at a quilt store in Idaho. Its new, not vintage. 10 in by 6 in
On the last day on our way home I went to an antique store and bought this vintage crocheted thimble cover.
Here's the cover on its top with thimble. I also bought these two fat quarters. Love the swirls and polka dots.

Back from Trip

I found some postcards, mostly motels which I love, in Lovelock Nevada not too far from Winnemucca. We just spent 6 days in our pop up tent trailer in Nevada and Southern Idaho. Found the nicest RV park in Mountain Home Idaho. More details later. I must unpack. I have a postcard of Glenns Ferry, Idaho or maybe I sold it I can't remember. Well I found the town and the Snake River where many lives were lost in this dangerous crossing. They even have a yearly reenactment of the crossing, but all live I hope! In this small town I found a quilt store and bought a neat sewing box. Pictures later. You will just have to wait.
