Postcard Friendship Friday

Marie Reed over at http://www.cpaphilblog.com/ is hosting once again Postcard Friendship Friday. Marie shared a postcard of an unusal mailbox. I am sharing a photo of my Grandfather who was a mailman. Here he is in his uniform carrying his bag full of mail. And mail boxes and mailmen just don't get the regular shaped postcard. Here is one of the Corn Palace in Mitchell South Dakota. The building is covered with corn and the husks etc. It is a good example of a novelty postcard.

RVing Away

Just camping away in RV parks Taking a rest from blogging although I love this wifi stuff! Not too far from home. Now its raining after several lovely days. I have been in all kinds of parks, One was connected with a golf course. They had a community hall there was a traveling group. Can you believe the RV wood Carvers....then the next park had a group of RVers who own Winnebagos. And now we are near a casino in a park but miserable weather. But those machines are inside.

Postcard Friendship Friday

Heres my postcard for Marie's blog, for Postcard Friendship Friday. Her postcard is a Happy Birthday greeting for her son Noah. And see what other friends of Marie has submitted for this weekly Friday event. http://www.cpaphilblog.com/ As for this postcard the two girls looking over the fence seem charmed by this boy in uniform. Happy Valentine's Day!

Grand Coulee Dam - RPPC

These 6 postcards are part of a series of 10 that I have in my collection. I will be listing them on eBay soon. Grand Coulee Dam is built across the Columbia River. The dam is 550 feet high. They began to build it in 1933, completed in 1939.

This is the company town. Love the old parked cars.

Yellowstone National Park

I drove through this Western Entrance to Yellowstone park near West Yellowstone, Montana for many summer vacations.
This linen postcard of the 1940's has the air brushed look so doesn't quite look the same when I was there in the 1950's camping at Madison Junction with my parents.

I always enjoyed watching the hourly eruptions of Old Faithful. I understand now there are not quite so regular (on the hour) and the steam erupting is smaller too. Not quite the sight it use to be.
