Canoeing along the shore, Lake George New York 1923 Postcard

There is a poetic quote on the message side of the card by the publisher
"With your little red canoe and a pretty girl or Two"
Then a brief mention that you could spend your vacation at Lake George (New York)
I love postmarks especially this large one of Pilot Knot N.Y. 1923
Message reads...Cold, Clear and windy.  Family coming this Thursday or Friday regardless of furniture.  Ralph

My Little Golden Postcard The Lively Little Rabbit Postcard Friendship Friday

I have never seen a copy of My Little Golden Post Card.  I know the books are collectible so maybe the postcards are.  This cute illustration is from the book "The Lively Little Rabbit." The authors name is so tiny and my magnifying glass is hidden and I could research it but I am on Mice patrol...eating wires yuk...so I wish you a Happy Friendship Friday.

ROMA Inaugurazione del Tunnel sotto il Palazzo del Quirinale 21 Ottobre 1902 Postcard

There is such detail on this antique postcard from 1902...
Inaugurazione del Tunnel sotto il Palazzo del Quirinale 21 Ottobre 1902 - ROMA  What I found in the photo so far is the trolley,  passengers, donkey pulling a cart, I guess those are a pile of bricks.  Too bad stamp was torn off the back.

Boy Scouts of America St.Louis MO Order of the Arrow, tap out ceremony

St. Louis MO Area Council Camping Boy Scouts of America 1964 mailed postcard

The order of the Arrow TAP OUT ceremony. It is viewed by thousands and because of the colorful ceremony, costumes and dancing it is one of the weeks not popular activities.

Postcard message.....I'll be running in the tap-out This week and then in the ceremony afterward so it probably won't do you much good to come out if you want to talk to me- But the tap out should be nice.....Mike.

Terrace Motel & Restaurant Fayetteville, Tennessee Vintage Postcard

Standard size Vintage Postcard  Terrace Motel & Restaurant Fayettevillee, Tennessee.
 Love these old motel postcards.
This motel located inside city limits of intersection of US 64 and US 231 on North side of the city.  All first class facilities to make your stop enjoyable, comfortable and complete.  This postcard is probably from the 1950's or early 1960's.
These panorama postcards were popular in the 1950's and later.  It is about 9 inches long.  The Thunderbird  Motel is located in Jackson Tennessee.  I just cannot resist the old motel postcards.

Pansies with pretty handwriting Postcard Friendship Friday,

In my previous post I shared a postcard with wonderful vintage graphics that I could see in a scrapbooking or mixed media project.  Here is a second postcard that I think would look great in some creative project. I would scan it on cardstock and make pretty tags.  Maybe  place it on a scrapbook page or frame it along with old lace and buttons.  The personal handwriting on the front I think makes it more interesting.

Fashionable Victorian Lady opera glasses handwritten message scrapbooking, paper and lettering Arts

Love this postcard even with the torn corner.  This looks so much like what artist create with pen and ink.  The creative writing on the front of the postcard just adds to mixed media art!   I can see scanning this and printing on fabric and sewing up a bag.  Lets see what the back looks like.
The back is OK.  I think the stamp was torn off.  The postmark says this postcard was mailed in 1906.  This would like nice framed.  One thing I will not trim it, but might digitally copy it and crop it.  It will be fun to work with.  Eventually I will put it on eBay.

"Our First Flag" Bicentennial Series adapted O'Neill PC by Florence Baker Kewpie

I acquired a collection of 80 Kewpie postcards quite a few duplicates. Only 2 were the original early 1900 postcards but the rest are charming later postcards from the 1970's. Some are postcards that were printed in the 1970s. The first postcard (flag) was adapted from the art of Rose O'Neill by Florence Baker who handpainted and adapted the design. It was published by the Baker Mktg Co. of Independence Missouri in the 1970s.

Many in my collection were published by the Ashers who had paintings of kewpies by Rose O'Neill in their own private collection. The chicken racing the Kewpie is so cute and the frog seems to be enjoying himself too. Also from about 1976

2800 (?) Barrels of Oil Going up in Smoke. McMan Oil Co. Postcard Midwest

I researched this postcard but could not find a McMan Oil Co in Oklahoma or Kansas. It is postmarked 1925 from Kansas but cannot read the town name. It was mailed to Mrs Edd Gant of Drumright Oklahoma which was a center for oil drilling. So I am not quite sure where this photograph is located except that it is interesting. It is a scene of a disastor or just a gusher.
