Rving in Minden Nevada near Carson City

My husband and I spent 4 days in Minden NV in the valley below Lake Tahoe.  Even though it got to 90 degrees in the afternoon it was about 48 at night.  We stayed at the casino Carson Valley Inn which has an RV park.  We took 2 days and drove to different spots in the area.  On Tues. we went to Reno and Sparks so we could visit Sheels Outdoor gear, a wonderful sports store.  Then we drove past Reno to Verdi to go to Cabelas where I found some shorts.  The road work made driving around trying but at least we were not pulling our trailer.

Minden joins with Gardnerville so the next day both towns had antique stores to visit.  I bought postcards and other pieces of ephemera.  Nice shops.  This is my third visit and I still have not checked out the quilting store and the Yarn store.  There was a forest fire 11 miles from Minden but the smoke went the other way.  Our drive home is over the Carson Pass.   Here are a few items I bought on this trip.
I grew up near Venice but it did not look like this.

Sunday Happenings

Not a whole lot happening here this warm summer day. I love taking my coffee outside and sitting on the deck before it gets hot. I then get out of my chair and check out little creek (acually overflow from a spare well) and watch the goldfinches getting drinks.  I usually pick a few of the left over lavendar which I am still drying.  I do have some sewing ideas for later in the day.  I may do a little ebay but who knows.

There is a contest on my ham radio but conditions have been poor.  Oh yes there will be a NASCAR race this morning too.  So have a good day.

Get your kicks on Route 66 Postcard Friendship Friday

All the projects, trips etc keep me busy and I am afraid I have neglected PFF.  If I can get a free postcard I grab it.  Sometimes the cards are not really postcards, but advertising Rack cards about the same size as a modern chrome postcard.  Enjoyed our drive on Route 66 and picked up these advertising radio cards somewhere.

Thanks to Beth for sponsoring Postcard Friendship Friday
