Postcard Friendship Friday Friends of Grandma Cabinet Card

I am sharing a cabinet card instead of a postcard because I purchased a lot of old photographs and I am getting ready to list them.  What intrigued me about this photo it is written at the bottom  "Friends of Grandma."  These friends are probably from Creston Iowa as the the Photographer is Burgess of Creston.

But to have so many friends wearing similar type hats.  And in black.  I wonder if it is a club.  It is fun to imagine who the gentlemen are.  Nice back to the card too.
Thanks to Beth over at

Hmmm - Friends of Grandma. Leaves so many unanswered questions. I don't see any wedding rings. How friendly are they. And just who is this Grandma, anyway. Did I spell leaves right? It doesn't look right to me. Perhaps Grandma's friends can answer that. Nice photo!

Yes, who are the men? Is grandma still drinking so heavily? Should we keep a closer eye on her?

They look like such a somber group. I've not heard of cabinet cards before. Very cool.

Great cabinet card. I only ever seem to come across carte de visite (their smaller cousin) on my trawls through antique stalls.

Was grandma a flirt in her younger days? Who are these guys anyway - they look older than high school friends!

What a blast from the past. Seeing the moments captured on postcards and photos of long ago just make us wonder about the history of people.
