Motel T Casino and RV Park Postcard Friendship Friday

Last night on our travels we were in Winnemucca Nevada. Being a casino you get the usual coupons, free drinks, free nickels, but the best coupon was for a free postcard. So it can be my only entry for PFF. Then I decided to share a picture of the map on a t shirt using the 10 percent discount in the casino gift shop. We are going home tomorrow. Will enter this now even though its Thurs. as tomorrow will be a busy day. Check out other PFF on http://www.cpaphilblog.com/
On the back of the postcard is says the Model T is your fun place! Features include 75 spacious guest rooms, 58 paved shaded RV spots, and a 24 hour restaurant and an exciting casino. We like to gamble (penny machines) and on this trip we hit the Old Camp Casino (Indian run in huge tent) and The No Where Casino where we also ate lunch. On the border of Oregon and Nevada near Nampa Idaho. It has been a 8 day trip and we love our trailer even with a few small problems.

Burns RV Park (Oregon)

Very friendly owners with small and large RV spaces. We were parked behind the office among trees and it was pretty nice. There were permanent residents nearby (yes some people live in their RV's) but they were quiet. Back to Nevada.

Mountain Home Idaho

This RV Park is so nice you can walk it in your bare feet. The park itself isn't in a too interesting area, but near by are interesting towns along the Snake River. But for now it is R & R. The large building is the office, and the doors of different colors are private showers and toilets.

Near Lucky Boy Pass Nevada

The picture doesn't really show the ruggedness of the country near Walker Lake and not far from Lucky Boy Pass. These areas were really searched for the missing Steve Fossey who took off in an airplane alone near Yerington Nevada. It is always sunny here in the morning, but stormy in the afternoon. Right now the wind is really blowing.

Picture Postcard Perfect - Postcard Friendship Friday

I know I am late in posting. But we are RVing again and I do not have a postcard with me....but I took this picture yesterday and I would say it would make a nice postcard. Now heres my question. Do you know where this picture was taken? We left the house yesterday. Check later for more photos. Our RV park is about 75 miles from here. Not quite this view. Thanks to Marie for sponsoring PFF so check out her blog for other entries. http://www.cpaphilblog.com/

FRIENDSHIP POSTCARD FRIDAY
Waterloo, the Lion, Belgium

The mound is 45 meters in height and there are 226 steps to the top. The lion which rests there was made there by Cockerill with the metal from all the cannons captured by the Allies. No my French isn't better, translation on back with comments by sender. The sheep look happy and content. Check out Maries blog for PFF http://www.cpaphilblog.com/

The birds are busy

This small twig birdfeeder are the birds favorite. It is starting to fall apart and I can't find another like it. It is only a couple of inches deep. I just purchased a Bluebird Birdhouse which needs to be put up on the fence post. The few Bluebirds we have haven't nested in it (the old one I have up) but the titmouse and flycathers have. The Grosbeaks are back and eat greedily and so do the house finches. Time to put out more seed.

Postcard Friendship Friday Old Letters

Instead of postcards I am sharing two old letters. I will give more details about the first one. It is written by Olivia Dollar on Dec 28, 1864 in Alton Illinois to Jennifer Nichols in Wapello Iowa. It is a long newsy letter but a little hard to read. I received from my Dad a box of letters written to several members of the Nichols family over the years. They were written from the 1860's to the early 1900s. So if I ever tackle these 25 plus letters I can learn some of the family history. I try reading them but give up. Beautiful writing in sepia color ink. The second letter is too faded to read. For other postcards for PFF go to Maries blog http://www.cpaphilblog.com/
