I picked this postcard because so many students are graduating from school this month. These girls are dressed for the occasion in their fancy white dresses and are holding a tied up certificate in their hand. Maybe they graduated from finishing school what with no cap and gown. It is fun to speculate. Postcard Friendship Friday is Maries idea so check out her blog. In fact you can meet her on her very first vlog!! http://www.cpaphilblog.com/ Click on the picture to enlarge. You can really see the detail.
In this blog I wish to share postcards from my collection with others, as there are many different catagories of postcards. I also will share what I am currently selling on Ebay. I like selling, buying and trading postcards. The Plus in the title is for the handcraft items I make and collect. Also for all the ephemera I collect.

That's an interesting contrast between their fancy clothes and the rural background. They don't look very happy for some reason.
How very lovely. The reason these ladies are not smiling is because back then one had to hold perfectly still for the photograph. Sometimes up to a minute or more! That is why you see so many unsmiling photos from this period in time! (grin)

What lovely young girls .
Such a special occasion they are all so proud and dressed up in really beautiful dresses.
Oh how very happy they must have been.
thank you for sharing .
Happy PFF.
Have a super weekend.

Reminds me of a photo Pagan Sphinx posted of her daughter's recent graduation .. happy PFF!
Exactly! Speculating is my favorite part of card collecting! I love to wonder and jump into their lives:) Happy PFF Judy!
Well done to the girls! It won't have been so easy for them to graduate. A lovely card to pick for today!
Great card! I'm sure they were really happier than their faces show!
I go with the "freeze face" theory for why they look less than thrilled. Wouldn't it have made more sense to hold a smile for up to a minute???
Maybe they just graduated from nursing school, but then I guess they might have had caps on if that were the case. Liked the postcard. And the vintage look.
Peaking at postcard today. I love all the lace on the dresses and the pearls. Guess no one said CHEESE in those days.

I love their hair - all swept back from their faces. My grandpa always used to say that to me - "Pull your hair away from your face, that's the way the girls did their hair back in the day."
