These bathers look quite relaxed. I would think the salt would be kind of itchy, and I notice they are wearing little shoes while floating, even reading the newspaper. The lake is 75 miles long and 21 percent is salt. It is so buoyant that they say you cannot sink. Lots of activities were on the Great Salt Lake like a dance pavilion

I never hear about people swimming in the Great Salt Lake now, but I assume they do.
It is a big thing to swim in the Great Salt Lake because you cannot sink due to the salt level.
