Happy Thanksgiving.  Today it is suppose to be 68 degrees in Sunny California, about 64 for tomorrows Turkey Day.

I suppose everyone will be shopping on Black Friday, but I will be online looking for Postcards or other ephemera.

Why we Buy Postcards.

What 2 interests draw collectors in buying postcards?

1.  Interest in one's locality.  Students of local history  discover that a view card of their favorite town can give them a fuller and more accurate picture of what life was like 60 or 70 years.

2. Social History - which falls into many forms, Military, costume, transport, car enthusiasts, humor.

The picture postcard offers scope to specialists in many fields.   am sure there are more then 2 reasons to buy a postcard.  Why do you buy postcards?

This picture is from last year, but the leaves are falling again and soon we will be raking up the oak leaves.

This is large wonderfully illustrated children's book from the 1940's.

Here I am with a tour group to Italy during the Christmas holidays in 1969.  I am the 3rd from the left in the back row.  I was teaching at RAF Bentwaters in England.
