I Need A Job - Sunday Postcard Art Challenge

Sunday Postcard Art is having a challenge with the theme being WOMEN!
I first made a copy of an old Greeting Card showing a woman reading a newspaper. Maybe she is ready a article on True Love but maybe she is reading the classified ads. I then stamped the woman hitting her forhead (unknown stamp company) I kept thinking I could add the caption I could have had a V8 Juice but I didn't. Instead I typed the words I need a then added JOB in tiles. The card measures 4 inches by 6 inches.

Country Home with Horse and Buggy Vintage Postcard

Available on Ebay....Click picture for link.

This postcard was never mailed, but has some writing on it. I would guess it is from 1907 to maybe 1912.....The horse and buggy are crossing a bridge with people standing nearby. A stately home, rather fancy for a country home, and if you look closely you can see the lantern street lights.

Sketch Challenge from California Stampin.
I took the above design and created the card below. I picked the mustard color background because it reminds me of the dry wheat fields around here. I glued the items on blue cardstock because of the blue summer skies.

The card measures 4 inches by 6 inches. I have so many stamps from grab bags, unmounted etc. but I believe the farm boy is from Anne Made Designs, a company that has retired. To see more cards from this challenge go to: http://californiastampin.blogspot.com/ I enjoy these challenges because I seem to get a blank when I need to make a card.

Gathering the Chickens

I love these two postcards, In small print on the left hand side, it reads copyright 1906 H.W.Lee. They are divided postcards never mailed. The second postcard has a crease across the center but they do make a nice pair!

Postcard Friday

This girl doesn't look too happy as she is up there for "Penitence. I wonder if its because she lost her shoe!

I imagine this kitty doesn't enjoy posing by a basket of flowers and a glass of water.

Show Me Wednesdays My Sewing Machines

I have 3 sewing machines. The first I bought was the Sears Kenmore Machine. Its over 25 years old and still runs great. The cams have many decorative stitches. I found it was too heavy to carry to a sewing class so I bought the Riccar. Its 3/4 in size, but the motor is full size. Its a great machine with the basic stitches and I can carry it everywhere. Then they were teaching about sergers so I had to buy the Baby Lock Machine. I still am learning on it. Its not as heavy as the Sears machine so I can get it to class but its not light. I have made a few items of clothing but my machines are mostly for craft projects. To see other sewing machines go to - http://hazelruthes.blogspot.com/
