We had a visitor who took over the countryside homes. He or she proceeded to walk on our deck (gate was open) and looked inside to watch us. No amount of noise scared the bear off and he found our garbage cans. He visited the next day but went across the highway and sat on the porch of our neighbor. The trouble he could not get back into his house after walking down the hill to his mailbox. Fish and Game finally came and a few shots (sheriffs came by then) scared the bear up a tree. We haven't seen this bear for a week and hopeful it is fine and going back towards Yosemite
