1956 Tour Group Palais De Versailles PFF

This group of travelers are probably standing in a spot where many tourists stop. I am sure a photographer grabbed them! This tour to France must be in the colder months as the women are wearing long coats! Styles of the 50's. There are 2 faint ink marks which indicate two of the tourists. Enjoying themselves are Mrs. N. R. Moore and Kathryn Steele. I wonder how many tourist dollars they each paid for a picture. But then I have similar ones in my photo album. This was made into a RPPC. Why are they travelling with such big purses! My friend Marie has more postcard bloggers sharing their favorite postcard for Postcard Friendship Friday. http://www.cpaphilblog.com/

Great Photo!
The need for "big purses" may never be known or understood!
Hope your weekend is wonderful...

I enjoyed your description of getting the tour group together for the picture. They followed directions so well they're still standing there 53 years later.

I bet that they were smuggling out valuables in those huge bags! The candlesticks from Versailles have gone missing!

I thought it was normal to carry big purses for travel…I usually carry a big tote bag all the time.

What an awesome trip that must have been...I would love to go back to Hawaii some day and take some pics and then make them into post cards..I have some pictures from the last trip and I bet I could just glue them on a plain post card and make my own :)
