Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.  2021 has been an interesting year.  I live in a retirement home and really like it in Merced California  I did a lot of crafts this year making cards with my die cutting machine.  and practicing Doodling.  Now I have been given a large number of antique postcards and look forward to sharing them soon  That is my goal for 2022.  I bought a chromebook and a small HP printer so will be ready now to post come pictures.  Or I may use my iPhone to take photos and write my posts there.  So many ideas.  Watch soon for new posts.  I might write one tonight.

Miner's Lettuce Edible but can be toxic

Miner's lettuce, a native winter annual broadleaf plant, is part of a complex of species and subspecies with slightly varying characteristics. It is found throughout California (except for the lower desert areas) to about 6600 feet (2000 m). Miner’s lettuce inhabits natural plant communities, agricultural land, and urban areas, with a preference for cool, damp conditions. It dries up with the onset of hot spring weather. Although the leaves are sometimes cultivated or collected for salad greens, occasionally it accumulates soluble oxalates, which can be toxic when ingested.

I am still recovering from being a "double Hippie"  That means two replacements with learning to walk without a limp.  Good movement with hips just the tendons and muscles that are old and need to be stronger.  So today I decided to get me back on ebay and try to downsize.  Here is a book I have listed.

Happy Thanksgiving

Great recovery from double hip replacement surgery.  Use cane at times but feeling better.  Of course this gives me time to do some shopping. All ONLINE.  Now I just have to wait for the items to arrive in the mail.  First using bonus points I am getting 3 flameless candles with a remote, an embroidery kit of birds, jewelry to wear made of lavastone just add  a drop of essential oils. Kewpie postcards,  Wow what fun.  Will share later with some links.  Oh and some hand dyed embroidery floss.

Hand Embroidery while recovering from Hip Replacement

I am not so much into postcards or other ephemera since I am not selling on ebay.  I have spent most of the last months recovering from Hip replacement surgery in April.  Good results although I still need to use my cane and get stronger.  Good news I will be having the other hip replaced next week.  I hope then to feel better although my  knees are looking a little big.  I need to walk more but with smoke from the California fires and the heat I do not walk outside as much as I should.  I sure miss RVing but maybe soon.

Staying at home mostly with shopping ventures and weekly sewing gatherings.  I have been doing quite a big of hand embroidery which I will picture below.
