Card Making using old Photographs

Making a copy of an old photograph is great for craft projects, card making and scrapbooking.  Scan photos from old RPPC postcards.

This postcard of a family photo would make a great card.

Our kittens are so cute, but not as mischievous as the Mainzer Postcard Cats

Mother cat is a calico cat too but her name is Spotty.  The kitten in this photo is called  Callie.

He has the cutest black and white face.  No name yet.  Any suggestions?

Dog Grooming, Shopping and enjoying the goodies at home.

Yesterday was Gardening Day, today was Shopping Day.  First my husband and I  dropped off Joey at PetSmart for his bath.  How can I shop first without stopping at the Credit Union, on to Costco for a few items, then to Target for pet supplies.  Then shopping for me...3 magazines from Barnes and Nobles, Somerset Life, Mary Jane's Farm and ShopSmart.  Right across the street was Hobby Lobby where I found the sale table and bought a small blank scrapbook and some blank cards and envelopes ready to decorate.

While we were eating at Sonic I got the call that Joey was ready.  Joey needed a walk so he got his exercise after I went to Starbucks and at last to an antique mall.  There were some boxes of postcards but nothing good to sell on eBay.  The best part about shopping is relaxing at home going through your bag of goodies.

Gardening Day

 Need to get outside today.  It is a good idea to take a break from all things electronic.

Improved Perforated Bellodonna Plaster - Trade Card Advertisement

This is a trade card for Improved Perforated Bellodonna Plaster.  It is the cures for many illnesses.  The front of the card has a charming illustration of 3 children, 2 girls and a boy.  Love the girls bonnets, aprons and Mary Jane style of shoes.

  Mitchell was born in 1837 and is the PIONEER OF PLASTER

Made at Novelty Plaster Works in Lowell, Mass at 25 cents and sold at drug stores everywhere.  The bust of the man is of Mitchell and photo was done in 1864.  I would guess this trade card is from 1870 to 1890.
